KS2 Times Tables Champions

In last Friday’s assembly, some of the KS2 students competed to find out who this year’s Y3&4 and Y5&6 times tables champions were. Earlier in the term Mr Phil and the Year 5 teachers held heats to select finalists. The students had to quickly recall their times tables facts. The finalists were all calm under pressure and impressed their classmates with their speedy and accurate recall of the tables.

Well done to everyone who took part. The eventual winners were Thisusha in 4L and Mimi in 6G.

Book Week 2017

This year’s Book week is only two weeks away. The teachers are already busy planning the activities and competitions for Book Week. As always, we will have a book character parade on the Friday. This year we are celebrating what would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday and would like as many students as possible to come dressed as characters from Roald Dahl’s books.

This year our visiting author is Tanya Landman. She is an English author of children's and young adult books. She is also a performer and scriptwriter for Storybox Theatre, a puppet theatre based in Devon, England. You can find out more about Tanya and her writing on her webpage- click here.

During her visit, students will be able to buy copies of some of Tanya’s books. You can see more on these titles in the photo slideshow.

This Friday Mrs Leanne will be leading our KS2 assembly to let the children know what’s happening during book week.
