Songkran Celebrations
This Wednesday is one of the highlights of the school calendar, our Songkran celebration. Last year with Thailand’s drought conditions we didn’t run our usual programme, but I am sure the children will be pleased to hear that this year, the water play is back!
The day will begin with the usual food offerings being made to the morks, and the monk’s blessings. This will happen in various areas across school - with Foundation Stage and KS1 children having tables set out in the T Block canteen and along the walkway. Please leave your offering on the correct table, making sure that your child’s name is written on it clearly. Children who are not offering food will go with their friends to watch.
There will be an assembly in the Reception Shared area starting at 8.45am prompt, with a second assembly for KS1/KS2 children starting at 9.10am in the Sports Hall, following the High School Assembly.
Later on in the day all of the children will have the chance to get wet and take part in water play with their friends and teachers.
*To avoid disappointment, please make sure that all of the children have dry clothes to change into and a towel.
**School will provide the cups for the water play. Buckets and water pistols from home are not allowed.
New families to St Andrews should ask other parents or class teachers for more details. Remember that the uniform for Wednesday is a bright, flowery shirt! Hopefully some of the archive photographs will give you a flavour of what is to come.
Please note that Wednesday 5th April is the last Day of term. We will re-open for Term 3 on Monday 24th April.
