Year 7 and 8 Concert + Year 6 Concert

Well done to Years 7 & 8 who performed brilliantly in their concert last week. The Year 7s got us off to a great start with their rendition of the Ghanaian song ‘A Keelie’. The Year 8’s began with Mr Tim’s composition ‘The Minimalist’ and led us to a rousing finish with ‘Samba De Janeiro’.

Watch this space for news and images from this Monday's performances by the Year 6 musicians.

St. Andrews Sings Concert

Well done to the Mezzo Singers, and the Guys and Girls’ High School Choirs for their performances on Wednesday morning. It’s such a nice start to the day and the singers did themselves proud!

BBC Symphony Orchestra LIVE in Bangkok!

Last week 18 students ranging from Year 7 to Year 13 and 6 staff members attended a concert given by the BBC Symphony Orchestra at Prince Mahidol Hall in Salaya.

The programme included music by H.M. the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Shostakovich, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Elgar. Both students and staff were enthralled and impressed by this world class orchestra. We also heard the pianist Benjamin Grosvenor perform Mozart’s Piano concerto no. 20 and three solo encores!

We will be planning more trips like this in the future as it is always an inspiration for young musicians to listen to music at such a high level.
