The week ahead is a busy one for the PTG – we have two meetings and we hope to see as many parents as can come.
There is a meeting of the PTG on Wednesday, 31 May 2017 at 08.00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Drama Studio. The main focus of this meeting will be a presentation by Mr. Paul on the High School campus as well as the plans to transform the 71 campus into a Primary only campus. As well as talking about structural changes, Mr. Paul will also go into practical details such as shuttle buses between the two campuses, where to buy school uniform for each campus and lunches. Please come along with any questions you may have regarding the next academic year. The summer holidays are fast approaching and I know, like me, you will want to get yourselves and your children organized before we all go our separate ways for the summer.
On Thursday, 1 June 2017, again at 08.00 a.m. in the Drama Studio, we will have another informal coffee morning. While the aim of these coffee mornings is for parents to have the chance to get together and catch up, we will be joined by Mr. Roo, the Head of High School and Simone Courso, one of our School Counsellors, who will be talking to us about the social challenges facing our young teenagers today, how school is dealing with the issues and how we can help our children at home. This is a very important subject and we hope to welcome as many of you as possible at the coffee morning.
Planning is well underway for the PTG Summer Party which will be held on Friday, 16 June 2017 at the Danish Loft on Sukhumvit 31. Tickets will be available via Moodle soon.
We held another successful second-hand uniform sale on Thursday last week. Again, all proceeds will be donated to the Baan Dek Foundation and will be used to purchase school uniforms for the children in their care. If you have any second-hand uniform that you wish to donate for sale or would like to purchase a particular item and cannot come to school for the sales, please do not hesitate to contact Albane by e-mail on email@example.com and she will be able to help you. We hope to hold one final sale of second-hand uniform before the end of term – more information will be sent nearer the time.
Finally, it has been brought to the PTG Committee’s attention that some valuable items have disappeared from High School lockers which were left unlocked because students appear to struggle with their combination locks. Despite the fact that the valuable items were hidden underneath layers of school books and clothes, they still disappeared. Students should be reminded not to leave valuable items at school if at all possible and that they should keep their lockers locked at all times. If students have problems with their combination lock, they should go to Estates where the staff will be able to help them.
