Art: Angkor envisioned

GCSE artists in year 10 have spent the last few days creating beautiful drawings using a variety of media, from pencil through oil pastel to watercolour. Their techniques have been experimental, as they investigate the properties of their chosen materials. They have discovered that they can manipulate the mood of their work through the subtle changes in colour, tone and texture, enhancing the ancient atmosphere of the site. The juxtaposition of sections of different media add the the layered appearance of the work.

Here is a small selection of the group’s portfolio. The full selection is available at the Art Department’s Facebook page: St.Andrews Art Dept. Please visit and like our page!
