Head’s Lines: Advancing into the second half of term

Last half-term ended with two fantastic International Days at St Andrews International School Bangkok...We look forward to another exciting half-term.

Welcome back to school. I hope everyone has had a really relaxing and enjoyable half-term holiday and is ready to enjoy a very full second half of term 1.

It was great to finish the first half of this first term with the two fantastic International Days. I would like to extend a special thank you to all involved especially all our parents who set up and gave out all the wonderful food in the two international buffets. Thank you to the PTG and the country representatives who did a fantastic job of organising these two great events so that the whole school community could enjoy these feasts.

There were some great activities across the whole school which allowed different age groups to have a greater understanding of the cultures and countries around the world. This was especially the case as our High School students examined issues faced by the continents of the world. Thank you to all our teachers, teaching assistants and learning support assistants who put in so much extra effort to really make the international days' activities so instructive and enjoyable.

Nord Anglia Education Regional Crisis Management Conference

Our school is hosting the first of this type of event for our region. The Heads of Schools and their key senior staff will come to our school for a two-day conference where we will discuss a whole range of issues that international schools face in this ever-changing world and how we can best be prepared for any crisis event that could take place within our region or individual school. This conference will be led by experts in the field - Hayley Jeans & Angie Wigford from International Educational Psychology Services (IEPS) - who will create and promote discussions that assist each school in the region to draw up comprehensive plans in the event that a tragedy or crisis occurs.
