Service Learning: Steps with Theera

A new CAS collaboration between St Andrews International School Bangkok and Steps with Theera.

Over the past five weeks a number of our IB students have been working with Steps with Theera in Ekkami to provide some after school art lessons. We have been working together for sometime now through a number of different programs but this is the first time that we worked together on a CAS project.

Our Year 12 and 13 students offered a number of different art activities over the course of the 5 weeks, ranging from Origami, graphic design and lantern making. This was an excellent Service opportunity as it provided the chance for the students from Steps with Theera to interact with people of a similar age, something that is not always on offer to these students. It also allowed our students to interact with a new group of people, build new friendships and learn to become mentors.

While this group of students have completed their work with Steps with Theera we have a new group of students who offer some drama lessons at Steps with Theera for the remainder of this half term.
