PTG: Back to business as usual

The PTG outlines some upcoming events and gives a reminder about Lost and Found at Primary School.

Book character

With the excitement of Fun Day behind us, it is back to business as usual for the PTG Committee. We will be holding a PTG meeting early after half-term so if there are any issues that you would like to raise, please send us an email (ptgchair@standrews.ac.th) and we can make sure that it is on the agenda. Details of the date and time will follow shortly. Please try and come to the meeting – the more parents we have the better discussion we can have on issues of concern.

Book Week

Book Week is approaching fast and new parents might not be aware of the Book Character Parade which is held on the Friday morning of Book Week. Children dress up as their favourite book character. The costumes are a great demonstration of the children’s love of reading but obviously the costumes take quite a lot of work so you might want to start discussing it with your children now. Class teachers can always help with costume ideas if you necessary.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found at the Primary School is run by parent volunteers so if you would like to help out for a couple of hours a week, please let us know (ptgchair@standrews.ac.th). At the moment, the Lost and Found room is open on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 07.00 a.m. to 08.30 a.m. Outside those hours, parents are welcome to take the key from the School Office and look for lost items. Please kindly lock the room and return the key to the School Office after use. Students can ask their class teacher if there is something they need to look for. Please ensure that all your children’s belongings are clearly labelled with their name (and, if possible, their class) as this makes it so much easier to return lost items to their owners. If you have items of school uniform that are still in condition but that your children have grown out of, please bring them into school as we have periodic sales of second-hand uniform where everything is sold at half- price. All money raised from the sale of second-hand uniform is donated to Baan Dek, one of the school’s charities, who use the money to buy school uniform for the children in their care in the North of Thailand.
