PTG: Looking forward to Term 3

The PTG Summer Party is coming - save the date.  There is still time to complete the Primary School Canteen questionnaire and don’t forget to sign up for parents’ activities this term.

ptg summer party

We hope everyone had a relaxing Songkran break. It’s hard to believe that we are now starting the third term of this year. The time is flying by and most people will already be looking forward to the summer break – especially after the shock of the early alarm on Monday morning.

Summer Party

Plans are well under way for the PTG Summer Party which will be held on Friday, 15 June. This is a great way for parents and teachers to get together and celebrate the end of another successful year at St Andrews International School Bangkok. This is the third year that the PTG will be organizing this event and it gets bigger and better every year so mark the date in your diary. More details will follow soon.

Primary School Canteen Questionnaire

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to complete the questionnaire on the canteen at the Primary School. There is still time to fill it in if you have not yet been able to. Your responses are much appreciated and the more opinions we have, the more effective we can be in our discussions with school and Epicure to bring out positive change.

New Shuttle Bus service for Primary School

All Primary parents should have received an email announcing the new shuttle bus service from MaxValu on soi Pridi to the Primary School. This new service is part of our school’s ongoing effort to improve efficiency, reduce overall travelling time, and provide alternative parking for Primary School parents to reduce congestion during peak pick-up and drop-off times.

Please take a look at the approximate departure times servicing this car park but also remember that these  times are subject to the sometimes unpredictable Bangkok traffic patterns.

If you park for more than 2 hours you will require a stamp which can be collected at the Primary School office .

This new arrangement with MaxValu is an excellent alternative for drivers.  There are air-conditioned waiting areas as well as coffee shops and it is not too far from school for them to come and collect you from the drop-off area once you are ready to leave the school grounds. Please encourage your drivers to use this car park rather than waiting in the school car park with their engines idling.  Engine idling has been an issue of growing concern for many parents and the PTG has been working closely with school to find solutions to the problem.

Parents’ Activities for Term 3

The end of Term 2 is fast approaching and in preparation for next term the PTG Committee is asking if any parents would be interested in leading any activities for other parents. Activities do not have to be sporting activities. A few examples could be: knitting, painting, music, etc. For reference, ECAs for Term 3 will run for 7 weeks beginning the week of 30 April on the following dates:

  • Monday : 30 Apr, 7 May, 14 May, 21 May, 4 June, 11 June, 18 June
  • Tuesday : 1 May, 8 May, 15 May, 22 May, 5 June, 12 June, 19 June
  • Wednesday : 2 May, 9 May, 16 May, 23 May, 6 June, 13 June , 20 June
  • Thursday : 3 May, 10 May, 17 May, 24 May, 31st May, 7 June, 14 June
  • Friday :   4 May, 11 May, 18 May, 25 May, 1 June, 8 June, 15 June

Parents' activities do not have to strictly follow the dates above, but are recommended because other children's activities such as assemblies, performances, and exams may affect your participation.

If you would be interested in leading an activity, please contact Paul from the PTG Committee on with the following information and he will put it up on the Moodle system for others to sign up.

  1. Name of course

  2. Name and contact details (e-mail and mobile phone number) of provider

  3. Preferred location (Primary School/High School/outside)

  4. Price per lesson/activity (drop-in price/whole term upfront payment price)

  5. Minimum members for course to run

  6. Background information about the course

Sign-up for other parents’ activities such as swimming, badminton and zumba which are already well-established clubs is via Moodle.

The parents’ activities is one of the many ways in which the PTG works to strengthen the community here at St Andrews International School Bangkok. If you are new to our school, it is a great way to meet other parents. We are always working to expand the choice of activities available to parents so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you are interested in participating or would like to run a new club.

As always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any suggestions, questions or concerns. The easiest way to reach us is by email on or many of us are around in the mornings both at Primary and High School and you are welcome to have a chat at any time.
