Welcome back to the new Academic Year. Hopefully, the children have all had a good holiday and are excited about coming back to school. As usual, the first day of term was incredibly busy, but there was a great atmosphere as children caught up with their friends and teachers and took note of some of the changes that have happened around school over the long break.
One of two new climbing frames has been installed, as have new roof panels in the G Block playground,. Staircases and classrooms have been given a fresh coat of paint and the development of the STARs classrooms and Speech and Language rooms has been completed. The school is looking great. Of course, even the long break doesn’t give us enough time to make all the scheduled improvements, so watch this space over the next few weeks and months as we complete even more projects.
Overseas resources arrived on time and teachers have been busy unpacking new toys and equipment. New teachers have all been welcomed to St Andrews and been finding out all about the school and the children. We have quite a number of new staff this year. Ms Bliss joins us in FS2 from another International School in Bangkok, as does Ms Emma L in Y1, Ms Evelyn and Ms Hollie in Y2. Also, from the UK, we welcome Ms Emma J and Ms Shelley into Y2. Some of you might recognise Ms Shelley as she is a returning teacher.
Our STARs Programme welcomes Ms Rhiannon and sees the return of Kroo Noke, and we look forward to working with Ms Anna, a new Speech and Language Therapist. There are also a number of new Learning Support and Teaching Assistants that some of you will get to know.
Parents of children entering Foundation Stage and Y1 came into school on Friday to visit the classrooms and meet the teachers, Y2 Parents will have their opportunity on Tuesday 28 August at 4.00 p.m.
