Meet the Teacher

In the week beginning Monday 3rd September, you will have the opportunity to have a quick face to face meeting with your children’s new class teachers. This is a chance to find out how they have settled into the new academic year and to share any information that you feel is important to ensure their progress in the year ahead. The teachers will individually invite you to make an appointment. Please note that this will not be a detailed breakdown of your child’s progress, but is more of a get to know you and your child opportunity for the teachers.

Bug Club Training

Across the Primary school, we use Bug Club, an online reading scheme to help boost the children’s reading skills and develop their love of reading. There will be a session to introduce this scheme to new families which will take place on Friday 31st August at 8.30 am in the Drama Studio.

Recycling and Sustainability

Recycling and sustainability are hot topics in Thailand at the moment with the country starting to make some headway into reducing the amount of disposable plastics produced, creating greater awareness of recycling and ensuring the protection of the environment including the rich marine and freshwater life found in our seas and waterways.

Around the school you’ve probably noticed our new recycling bins, which have been placed in the classrooms, shared areas and around the campus.

Ms Sarah, our STEAM co-ordinator, is also sending out a plea for things that we can reuse.

Dear Parents,

If you have been collecting things at home and are looking to make good use of them - such as gift ribbon, normal ribbon, old clothes (for the fabric,) bubble wrap, old Christmas/birthday cards for cutting up the pictures, buttons, beads, lollipop sticks, straws etc. please look no further!

Whilst we can buy nice new resources, there's a lot of trial and error involved with some STEAM projects and we really would like to use as much recycled materials as possible, especially for the prototype stage - and it's good for our students to be aware that 'brand new' is not always necessary.

Please send any STEAM donations to my classroom (C11 - Y6 quad)

Annie - The KS2 Production

As announced on Friday, we will be doing Annie as our KS2 production this year. Ms Sarah met with some very enthusiastic children at lunchtime today to give them more information about the audition process. The auditions will run from Wednesday 5th September to Friday 7th September and our production team (Ms Sarah, Ms Anna, Mr Sam and Mrs Leanne) will have a very tough time selecting with over 90 students already signed up to audition. If your child hasn’t signed up yet and is interested in auditioning, you can add their details by clicking on this form link. Please note that we will not be accepting sign ups after Wednesday 29th August.

Annie, the tale of a young orphan living in depression era New York, is traditionally girl heavy, but our production will be open to boys and girls, with even the lead role up for grabs for either gender. All of the materials needed to audition can be found in this folder.

If you’ve never seen the movie, you can get a taste of what to expect with these links.
