New Admissions for 2018-2019
All families should have recently received an email from the Admissions Department asking if you have any children not currently enrolled in St Andrews, whom you hope to enrol next August, or at any point during the 2019-2020 Academic year.
We are already taking applications for entry into next year’s Foundation Stage and KS1 classes but in order for us to prioritise our current families, you need to fill in an application form and give this to the Admissions team as soon as possible. You can also get in contact with them at the following email addresses:
The Connection Between Listening Skills and Academic Success
Have you ever felt that your child just isn’t listening? You know they can hear you but they don’t follow instructions well? There are of course a number of factors that affect your child’s ability to pay attention, but unless we can improve their ability to listen it can have a significant impact on academic learning both now and in the future.
Luckily there are things you can do to boost listening skills but, as with many things, early intervention is key.
Ms Rachel Nahimas will be running a workshop for parents on Tuesday 2 October at 8.00 a.m. in the Drama Studio.
The workshop “Encouraging our Children to Listen” sets out to explore how we are able to help our children to actively listen to us more. The target audience is parents from FS3 (Reception), Year 1 and Year 2.
International Day is on its way!
On Friday 12 October we will be celebrating International Day in the Primary School. We have a number of classroom activities that take place in the weeks leading up to International Day itself, but new families need to be preparing for dressing up in national costumes on the 12th and joining in the celebrations!
