There is certainly lots happening around both campuses as we start week 6 of this first half term. This coming weekend our school hosts the NAE Juilliard Music Professional Development Workshop with music teachers from other NAE schools in the region joining our own music staff for a brilliant training opportunity with professionals and artists from the Juilliard School in New York City.
Also next weekend I shall be attending the NAE Senior Leadership Meeting in Switzerland. This event brings together Principals from all the NAE schools around the world in the Les Martinets Lodge for three days of staff development. This is where new initiatives and developments with our current partners, such as MIT and Juilliard, are reviewed and the possible next phases in their development discussed.
As you are well aware, International Days are coming soon. Celebrations will be held at the Primary Campus on Friday 12 October and at the High School Campus on Friday 19 October. A huge thank you to our PTG and the country representatives for all the work they have so far put into setting up the food halls and cultural displays for the wide range of nationalities we have in our school community.
We will be having two assemblies on International Day. The first of these, for Years 1-3 will begin at 8.30 a.m. The second assembly, for Years 4-6 will begin at 9.10 a.m. Both assemblies will begin with a parade of the flags into the Sports Hall and will contain a variety of music and dances from our ECAs. There will also be some cultural dances organised by some of our communities which will be performed on International Day in the Year 6 Quad. We now have five countries represented by these dances.
