    Primary School Library: Read your way into Term 2

    There is lots going on in the Primary School Library with our participation in this year’s Bangkok Book Awards, lots of new books to entice our young readers and the Creative Table activity focuses on New Year’s resolutions.

    Welcome back and Happy New Year 2019 at St Andrews International School Bangkok. Term 2 is sure to be just as busy as Term 1 with lots of activities planned and don’t forget to look out for all our shiny ‘New Arrivals’ on display when you come into the Library.

    Bangkok Book Awards

    We are very pleased to be taking part in the Bangkok Book Awards this year. Please take a moment to look at the special displays, posters and books in the Library. Go to the website for more information about all the books and click here when you are ready to place your vote or help your child to place their own vote.

    Please join us in encouraging the children to read as many of the books in their age/level appropriate category as possible. We have three copies of each of the titles in the Picture Books, Younger Reader and Junior books categories available.

    Voting will close on Friday 22 March 2019 so there is plenty of time to read as many of the books as possible and every one of your opinions and votes could make all the difference to who wins an award this year.

    Library Monitors’ Christmas Party

    Our 20 Library Monitors did a great job last term and we thought it only right to reward them with an informal ‘Christmas Party’ which they all enjoyed.

    Many of them have asked to carry on again this term and we are also pleased to welcome some new monitors from Years 4 to 6 who are also keen to learn how they can help in the Library. More on them next week.
