Primary School Music: Thai performances

Last week’s Loi Krathong festivities provided some wonderful opportunities for our students to learn about and perform traditional Thai music.

Year 4 Traditional Thai Musicians 

Last week Year 4G and H, along with Ichiha and Olivia from 4J, performed the Loi Krathong song on a variety of traditional and not so traditional instruments. Year 4 have been learning all about Thai pentatonic music and this song is a great example of this. They did a wonderful job of performing their different parts, following a conductor and listening to each other as an ensemble. Well done Year 4.

The Khim Group make their debut!

The St Andrews International School Bangkok assembly got off to a truly traditional start with a performance by STA Thai Music Band. It was wonderful to hear one the newest musical ECAs perform in assembly for the first time and they sounded absolutely brilliant. Well done to those children and their teachers for all their hard work.

• Year 2 Christmas Shows - Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th at 8:30am; Friday 6th at 9am - Drama Studio

• FS1 and 2 Concerts - Tuesday 3rd - times to be confirmed with teachers

• Year 1 Carol Singing - Friday 6th at 8:15am - Year 6 Quad

• Community Carol Singing - Friday 6th at 7:30am - Year 6 Quad

• Year 3&4 Concert featuring STA Sing Girls, STA Rec , Y3-4 Cheerleaders, Y3-4 Boys Dance Squad, TISAC Dance  - Wednesday 11th December at 1pm - Sports Hall

• Year 5&6 Concert Featuring STA Sing Boys, STA Sing Girls, STA Band, STA Jazz Band, STA Strum, TISAC Dance, Dance Squad Blaze and Flames  4pm - Sports Hall
