Drama students from Year 9 to Year 13 were lucky enough to see Bill Bowers perform his one man play at NIST. Bill is a highly regarded mime artist who has worked with Marcel Marceau and performed on Broadway, notably in The Lion King. He took us on an emotional journey through his life which saw us all laughing and crying at different moments. We look to expose students to as much live theatre as possible - this is imperative for KS4 and KS5 and excellent preparation for KS3 students. All KS4 and KS5 students are tasked with creating a solo performance, and seeing Bill’s work has provided great inspiration for them.
Drama and Theatre Arts students at St Andrews International School Bangkok will soon have another experience to see live theatre and work with a professional director and creator of original works. Joachim Matschoss, a highly acclaimed Australian theatre practitioner, will be joining us early next term to work with our IGCSE and IB students to continue to develop their theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject. He will also be bringing his theatre company who will be performing.
