Primary School Library: Poetry in Motion

The spotlight turns to poetry this week at the Primary School Library at St Andrews International School Bangkok. And there is still plenty of time to encourage your young readers to get involved in the Bangkok Book Awards 2019.

Poetry is for Everyone

We have a lovely new collection of poetry books with something to interest children (and adults) of all ages from poems about worms and rhinos to poems about World War II and dads!

“Poetry is essential for children because it is ‘the best words in the best order.’ The rhythm and rhymes can help children develop a love of language and a love of reading. Once children begin flexing their writing muscles, poetry can spark their creativity and let their imaginations soar!”

Emergent readers and writers LOVE poems because they are less daunting than a page full of text to read or an empty page to fill. Poetry is for everyone - you just need to find your favourite style so why not make a start by taking a look at our fabulous range on display in the Library.

Books of the Week

We have some more of our fantastic NEW books for you again this week. A lovely colourful pop-up book of animal homes, which the younger readers will enjoy, and an interesting book for our older readers which also tells a tale which includes animal adventures. We hope you will come and have a look and enjoy this week's books.
