PTG: Changes to the PTG Committee

At the end of this year, three members of the PTG Committee will be standing down. If you would like to get involved with this dynamic group of people, please get in touch. On Friday there is a great opportunity for parents to get involved in a project for the Bookworm Foundation. Donations from tennis and swimming make up a generous donation to two charities and our next High School Coffee and Chat takes place next week.

Join the Committee

The PTG Committee is comprised of three Officers (Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary) and other members. At the end of this PTG term, three people will be standing down - the Chairperson and two other members. We are looking for parents who would like to get involved with the community-building work carried out by this dynamic group of people. Elections will be held at the Annual General Meeting which will take place shortly after the start of the next academic year, but if you are interested in standing for election, please get in touch by email at ptgchair@standrews.ac.th">ptgchair@standrews.ac.th.

Parent Workshop this Friday, 22 March 2019

This week, Ms Yoshi from the Bookworm Foundation will be at the Primary School working with all the children and talking to them about the joy of reading as well as the challenges facing children with vision impairment. They will also learn about braille.

On Friday, 22 March we have a great opportunity for parents to get involved and really make a difference. Ms Yoshi will give a presentation to parents about the work of the Bookworm Foundation and more specifically a project to produce 200 tactile books to make stories and reading more accessible to children with vision impairment. Parents are invited to help make the different components of the books. All materials will be provided, along with instructions on how to do it.

Here are a couple of examples of what we will be doing.

Bookworm Foundation Bookworm Foundation

The presentation will be at 09.00 a.m. on the 5th floor of the T block (Key Stage 1 building). The hands-on work will start after the presentation and will run until lunch time. Parents can stay for as much time as they have to give.

Refreshments will be provided and in order to ensure that we have enough for everybody, could you kindly complete this very short survey to indicate if you can join us.

If you enjoy spending time doing craft work, this event is for you. We look forward to seeing you there.

Proceeds from Parents’ Tennis and Swimming

Donations that are made by parents who take part in the PTG Tennis and Swimming lessons will be donated to two charities: PAWs and Pick a Pet for Home.

Coffee and chat # 4

Our popular “Coffee and Chat” sessions in High School continue and the next one will be held next Monday, 25  March 2019, again in the High School Coffee shop from 07.45 a.m. Please come along for a chat. PTG Committee members will be on hand for you to raise any issues of concern and these issues will be discussed with High School management at our next meeting with them.
