As I wrote last week, we have been hosting visitors from NAE from all over the world in the last week, with delegates flying in from as far away as Brazil and Costa Rica for the Senior Leadership Programme, from Wednesday to Friday last week, and from schools in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam for the NAE South-East Asia Regional Conference, which took place from Sunday evening until this afternoon.
It is always very interesting to share ideas with colleagues working in different schools and different contexts, but it was also very rewarding to host so many other educators at the High School, and we are all very proud of the compliments that we have received in the last week, with different delegates praising our High School buildings, the students and the atmosphere around the school, our inclusive approach and variety of Learning Support approaches and the variety and quality of food served in the Canteen, where the Senior Leadership Programme delegates ate with the students from Wednesday to Friday last week.
As I also wrote last week, the school year is flying by, with the last day of Term 2, and the last day of normal lessons for Year 11 and 13 students, now only a month away. One of my favourite quotes from a film, from Ferris Bueller's Day Off is “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Although life certainly has been moving pretty fast in the last week, I’ve really enjoyed looking around the High School from the perspective of all of our visiting colleagues.
