Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1: Mini beasts on parade

Year 2’s end of year Expo highlights their work this year...Please take note of important information for the last day of term at St Andrews International School Bangkok.

There was a definite buzz in Y2 on Friday as the children invited in parents for their end of year Expo.  It was a fabulous way to share all of the learning that has taken place and that has culminated in the final topic of Minibeasts. There was so much variety on show, and the children, their teachers and TAs did a great job displaying everything to its best effect. The children loved being able to explain their work to the visitors, and their musical numbers were brilliant too.

Well done Y2, you are definitely ready for Y3.

Meat Free Monday

The first of out Meat Free Mondays took place today with the children trying out a few new recipes and some old meat-free favourites such as spaghetti with a tomato sauce.  The omelette went down particularly well, as did the cauliflower cheese, but probably the favourite was the mini vegi-burgers.  It will be interesting to see next Monday what is on the next taster menu.  Remember that if you have any favourite meat-free recipes to send them into school so that the chefs can try them out.

The Won Project

There is such enthusiasm around the St Andrews International School Bangkok Community at the moment regarding Sustainability and Recycling projects, that we are constantly being asked what more we can do as a school.

Ms Helen describes another partnership coming on line now that will be developed during the next academic year:

In our continued effort to make our school more sustainable we are proud to announce that we have partnered with a local foundation called ‘Won Project’ in order to extend our plastic recycling capabilities.  Won are now accepting all the ‘stretchy’ plastic that normally cannot be recycled in Thailand. We have a bin by the car park entrance that has an information board explaining which kinds of plastics are accepted. As much as possible plastics should be clean and dry. The Won Project will then come and pick the bins up every few weeks. If you have a local business and would like to run a similar scheme using the bins please get in touch and we can give you the contact details.

Thank you for your support.
