High School: Library new arrivals

We are delighted to welcome Mr James and Ms Laila as our new High School Librarians. A Juilliard musical specialist will be visiting us virtually. The IB Diploma Programme Information Evening was recorded and is ready for you to watch. Whilst, the Year 9 IGCSE Options Parents' Information Evening is next week.

New staff

We are very pleased to welcome Ms Laila, who started on Thursday last week, and Mr James, who started today - our new High School Librarians.

I know that they will build on the great work that Mr DK and Ms Baiyok have done in the High School Library over the last few years, and continue to build the Library as one of the most important spaces in the life of the High School.

Virtual Visit

Virtual Visit

The Music Department is delighted to welcome our Juilliard curriculum specialist, Brian Drye, who is visiting the school virtually this week. Brian is a professional trombone player, regularly working around New York and currently performing on Broadway. Brian will be working with several of our students including giving exclusive workshops for both the Primary Orchestra and the High School Jazz Band.

As well as working with the students Brian will be working with the Music teachers and discussing the great Juilliard work which all St Andrews students experience in their Music lessons.

Information Evenings and Meetings

In last week’s Newsletter I wrote about Tuesday’s IB Diploma Programme Information Evening, which was streamed live for parents of students in Year 11. As promised, here is the link to the recorded presentation, as we know that many parents of younger students would also like to know more about the IB Diploma Programme.

Next Tuesday Ms Chrissy and I will be hosting the Year 9 IGCSE Options Parents' Information Evening. Ms Chrissy will e-mail details to all parents of Year 9 students later this week and I will again share the recorded presentation with you all in a future Newsletter.

This Information Evening launches the Year 9 IGCSE Options process, as you can see on the Calendar below times to prepare parents and students to discuss their options choices in the forthcoming Key Stage 3 Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings.

Before that, we have Year 10 and 11 Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Mr Eoin and Mr Jon have already emailed the details to parents of Year 10 and 11 students, and a reminder to register for appointments with teachers before 2:30 tomorrow.

Vaccine

Flu Vaccination Programme

Many of you will know that for a number of years, we have been hosting a Flu Vaccination Programme for our school community.

This year’s Flu Vaccination Programme will be held on Friday 27th November from 1 pm to 4 pm in the Primary School’s Drama Studio. The programme, in collaboration with Samitivej Hospital, will be open to all members of the family at a price of 590 baht per shot.

The programme is always popular, and this year we anticipate will be even more so. To make sure we have ordered enough vaccines please complete this form to register. A form must be completed for each person who is to receive the vaccine. You will also need to print and complete this form, and bring it, with your payment, on the day.

With parental consent, High School students may take the shuttle bus to Primary at 2:30 pm to receive their vaccination independently.
