High School: Meet the Careers and Higher Education Counsellors!

A warm welcome to Ms Alyssa and Mr Rob, our two new Careers and Higher Education Counsellors. Also, we look at last years fantastic university offers and acceptances, with almost 350 offers from 119 different universities in 19 different countries. This includes over 120 offers and acceptances from the Top 100 universities in the world. Finally, please take note of all the important dates in our Term 1 High School calendar.

Meet Ms Alyssa and Mr Rob

Over the last few weeks, I have introduced a number of new teachers, and teachers with new positions of responsibility within the High School.

This week I introduce Ms Alyssa and Mr Rob, our two new Careers and Higher Education Counsellors.

Alyssa Rob

Both Ms Alyssa and Mr Rob join us with a great deal of experience of working with students from different international schools around the world as they research and apply for universities around the world, and they have already started working, along with Mr Will (Deputy Head: Senior Studies/IB Diploma Coordinator), Mr Jon (Head of Year 12), Ms Nikki (Head of Year 13) and our team of 20 Senior Studies Tutors, with Year 12 and 13 students.

As you know, last year’s Year 13 students received a fantastic range of offers and acceptances from universities around the world, with almost 350 offers from 119 different universities in 19 different countries, including over 120 offers and acceptances from the top 100 universities in the world.

ou can read more about last year’s offers and acceptances on our website.

Ms Alyssa and Mr Rob will also be working with younger students and their families, especially Year 9 and 11 students as they start to make their (I)GCSE and IB Diploma Programme Option Choices later this term - my focus in next week’s Newsletter.

You can read more about Ms Alyssa and Mr Rob in their Staff Profiles on our website.

Parents’ Information Evenings, Grade Reports and Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings

It was great to see so many parents at last week’s final Parents’ Information Evening, for parents of students in Years 12 and 13.

The Calendar below shows the dates of all of this term’s Grade Reports and Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings. In next week’s Newsletter, we will add the dates of all the Year 9 and 11 Options events.

Please remember that all the school's live Google Calendars can be seen via Moodle: calendar.standrews.ac.th.
