The ladies stopped and chatted with us about our project. It was exciting. They said that the features in our hotel were excellent - wind turbines, solar panels and water treatment. They said that these eco-tourist features will definitely appeal to tourists overseas. They really liked our project.

Year 4 Egyptian Expo

How wonderful it was last week to have the Year 4 students all dressed up and enjoying their Egyptian Expo Day. They spent a long time showing other year groups all the wonderful things they had done this term regarding the Topic of The Egyptians; artwork, stories and some incredible artefacts. They were also able to record a song and a video tour for parents to see for themselves how hard they had worked. Well done to everyone for all the hard work!

Year 2 invite parents in for their Mini-Beasts show

Last week saw very impressive performances by Year 2s. They were performing their Mini-beast shows to their parents on various days throughout the week. There were songs, jokes, amazing facts and lots of fun as they all entertained in front of a live audience, one of the first times this year we have been able to do this. All the teachers and parents were so impressed with the confidence and quality of the children’s performances, considering they had not been able to do this kind of show for a very long time. Well done to all the staff involved and all the students for such a great effort.

Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 enjoy their 'Class Swap Day'

This morning saw STA welcome many new families as children, starting next academic year, were invited in to meet their new teachers. Mr Paul gave a welcome speech to new families and the students were taken to their new classrooms to meet their teachers along with the other students already at the school. It is always an exciting time starting a new school and also starting a new year with a new teacher so we welcome everyone and wish all good luck in the year ahead.

TAT visit Year 6

On Monday 6th June, Year 6 had a visit from the TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) who were interested in viewing students’ progress in Project-Based Learning (PBL).

Year 6’s PBL driving question is ‘How can we promote tourism in Thailand?’ During the term, students worked in groups to find answers to this question. This involved real-life skills such as carrying out research, interviewing, conducting market research, communicating with experts, marketing, conducting surveys, creating apps, videos and websites. After much research, students discovered that the TAT are the experts in tourism here in Thailand. With Khun Noke’s kind assistance (School Director), students’ wrote formal emails to the TAT, asking if they could kindly visit, provide feedback and give advice about their projects. Students were delighted to receive a reply, confirming they could visit.

Khun Noke, Mr Paul, Khun Pornpan (Director, International Advertising Publicity Division - TAT) and Khun Boontarika (Marketing Promotion Officer, International Advertising Publicity Division - TAT) visited each class in Year 6. They talked to students and observed groups creating their own hotels, resorts, tours, apps, theme parks and much more. Their input was received very well by the students and their feedback was invaluable. They were so impressed that they would like to come back and have requested more time so that they can speak to groups in greater depth. An additional staff member from the TAT will accompany them also. We are excited and look forward to welcoming them back to view the finished projects on Monday 20th June.
