It has been an absolute pleasure to meet all the children in Year 4 over the first few days. The children are so excited to be back at school and have been very impressed with the recent changes over the summer break.

This week has been about getting to know our learners and each other, expectations and classroom routines. The children have enjoyed their specialist lessons – Chinese/EAL, Music, Drama, Music and PE.
This week for computing we have been discussing what makes a responsible digital citizen. We have reviewed the schools acceptable use policy and tested our understanding by playing a Kahoot. What is a Kahoot? A Kahoot is a game based learning platform that engages and challenges every child in the lesson.
We are very excited by our NEW flexible learning space called “The Hub” This week the children have been working on a project for our topic “Around the World in 80 Days”. This has involved working on our new Macbook Air Laptops. The children are becoming flexible learners by knowing how to use a range of equipment – ipads, windows laptops and macbook air and moving between windows and ios systems.
We also look forward to using “The Hub” when work on our next MIT/STEAM challenge later in the term.
