World Children’s Day

On Wednesday 20th November, BSB children across the year groups arrived at school wearing blue. On this day 30 years ago the Children’s Rights were established and the children really enjoyed learning about what that meant for them and for others around the world. Here at BSB, the children spent the day learning about the difference between rights, needs and wants, discussing what makes a good childhood and learning more about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Across the school, some classes were making posters, other classes were having debates and some were using the Nord Anglia Global Campus to share their views with the rest of our international community. Some of the Year 3 children were even seen practicing meditation and thinking about making wishes for others around the world who are less fortunate.

It was a very thought provoking day for our school community here and the children came away understanding that they are very lucky to have a safe and nurturing environment, both at home and here at school too.
