Before becoming Head of School at the British International School of Boston, I gained a large amount of experience in school leadership and over two decades of experience in education, after graduating from the University of Exeter with an Honors degree in History.
My previous role was Head Teacher of The Westgate School in the UK where, over a six year period, I drove strong academic achievement and gained and maintained an ‘outstanding’ rating for the school from the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted). Prior to this position, I worked in a number of schools in the South of England, following three years’ experience of education in Japan.
I believe that learning and teaching standards are paramount, and I am passionate about equipping students for success, both during their school careers and preparing them for the future. I believe that this, together with my strong track record for supporting students to exceed expectations, ideally places me to lead and continue the success of BISB as a school where every student thrives – academically, socially and personally.
I moved to Boston with my wife and two young daughters, who are all enjoying their experiences in such a dynamic and interesting location. Having been passionate about sport my whole life, I am enjoying the wealth of opportunities available to continue with sports I have previously played in the UK (rugby, golf and skiing) whilst learning and enjoying the new sports available in Boston.
What makes BISB unique?
It is extremely rare in any school around the world to have staff who are 100% committed to the best outcomes for their students, whilst having a student body who wants to achieve and always take advantage of the opportunities available and who are consistently polite and appreciative, with a set of parents who support and enhance the learning experience. If you then add in the location of the school in the world educational hub of Boston and a curriculum that prepares and equips all of the students for the future global environment, this is what we have at the British International School of Boston, and this is what makes us different!
