During Key Stage 3 we encourage active learning, critical thinking and excellent communication skills, including taking part in debates and giving presentations. Our students represent the school at various functions and participate in the student council and other meetings.
The curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum and offers the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, German, French, EAL, Geography, History, ICT, Art, PE and Music. Students study each of these subjects to give them a flavour of what it would be like to study them at I/GCSE level, making it easier for them to make their subject choices at the end of Year 9.
An integral part of learning is the use of our Moodle, a Virtual Learning Environment, and taking part in projects within Global Classroom including competitions in Creative Writing, Science, Mathematics, Dance, Art and many others.
Learning is frequently enhanced by various activities, expert visits, specialist talks and trips in order to allow students to see the learned topics embedded in practice.
