Our Philosophy
The British International School Budapest is a caring, multicultural community where the development of the intellect is complemented by the pursuit of personal and interpersonal growth.
Every subject is taught using an integrated, thematic approach founded on inquiry-based learning and high quality teaching. We find that children thrive in their correct class age groups. Our differentiated teaching accommodates students who are performing at different levels and makes sure each child is suitably challenged. Where there are two or three classes in a year group, we will organise the classes so that they are balanced in terms of language experience, nationalities, abilities and gender.
English as an additional language provision (EAL)
Languages open doors to fresh and exciting experiences and opportunities. If English is not your first language, you will be supported by our dedicated team of EAL teachers, with extensive experience in enabling you to access the English language as quickly as possible so that you can be fully immersed in the taught curriculum as well as the community as a whole.
Until your English is as confident as it needs to be, you will not study an additional second language. Instead, you will take part in extra English language classes to support you across all your subjects.
