Chris started teaching in 1997 and for seven years worked in various schools within North Yorkshire in the UK where he began to build up his leadership working on projects that developed child well-being and what the impact of providing a ‘wider curriculum’ was on children’s development.
Chris has worked for NAE since 2003, initially at our sister school in Ho Chi Minh City where he was a Year 6 teacher and Key Stage 2 Co-ordinator. In 2005 Chris joined BISB. During his time here he has had various leadership roles (Numeracy Coordinator, Key Stage 2 Co-ordinator and Deputy Head Of Primary) and has recently become Head of Primary. Chris has had many great professional learning opportunities since working for NAE. He was an inaugural member of the first Middle Leaders Development Programme and started NAE’s Senior Leaders’ Course in 2016.
Chris thoroughly enjoys working in international schools. He likes the vibrant and varied communities that he works in and the interesting people he meets and works with on a daily basis.
He enjoys the ambitious outlook of NAE to constantly improve themselves and support their own staff to achieve their career aspirations. This is a philosophy that he holds dear as he wants all the children he teaches to be ambitious but also to grow and develop into future positive role models in society.
In his spare time and at weekends Chris loves spending time with his wife and two daughters. Apart from family time, Chris enjoys to keep his energy levels high by playing squash and being a regular visitor to the gym.
