Sarah Sheppard

Early Years Teacher

BA Primary Education, University of Leeds

Executive Masters in International Education, King’s College London

On completing her degree, Sarah worked as an Early Years teacher at a school in East Yorkshire, England. Having gained experience in both Nursery and Reception the pull to teach internationally grew stronger and she successfully gained a post at the British School of Guangzhou, China. This was where Sarah’s journey with Nord Anglia Education began.

Sarah worked at the British School of Guangzhou, China for five years before joining BISB. Within her time in China Sarah became a Nursery Leader and then Assistant Head of Early Years. She was eager to build on her experience with more in-depth knowledge of international education and schools, therefore she took and completed an Executive Masters in International Education through King’s College London.

Early Years teaching is extremely rewarding, enabling children to gain the foundation life skills they require throughout their lives. Whilst learning through play, Sarah ensures that young children develop a love of learning and flourish into independent thinkers. At the core of her practice she ensures children are kind to each other, stay true to who they are and are responsible individuals, taking care of the environment. Sarah strives to foster a mindset not only to ‘be ambitious’ but also to ‘remain ambitious’ ensuring children are confident and prepared to undertake the next steps in their educational journey.

Sarah leads a healthy lifestyle, practising yoga and running outdoors. She believes that keeping fit both physically and mentally is very important to leading a full life. Sarah loves rock climbing. She enjoys a challenge and believes in living on the edge of your comfort zones.
