Rachael began her teaching career in a large inner city primary school in Northern Ireland. It was during this time she recognised her love for teaching the year 1 curriculum. She enjoys planning practical lessons to engage children’s attention and developing children’s phonics through a variety of different teaching methods.
Rachael is committed to the ideals and principles of a holistic education; she believes children learn best when the feel safe and secure. She strives to create a classroom in which children feel happy and relaxed. As a result, she has carried out training in mindfulness, yoga and breathing techniques for children. She has seen the positive effects this environment has had on developing children’s confidence and self-esteem, which in turn has developed their ambition and progress in learning.
In her spare time, Rachael likes to keep fit by training in the gym and going running. She will take any opportunity to be in nature, this includes going on hikes and swimming. At the end of the day she likes to relax by carrying out some meditation or yoga. She enjoys catching up with her family and friends over a cup of coffee and something sweet.
