BA (Hons) French & Music, University of Bristol
PGCE Primary, University of Durham
Libbie started her teaching career in 2012 after completing her studies at Durham University. Her first post was in a large inner-city primary school in Newcastle-upon-Tyne where she worked for a number of years in KS2 and held the position of Teacher Governor. Libbie moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for her first international teaching role and worked there as the mathematics subject coordinator. She collaborated closely with Primary and Secondary colleagues and developed the transition programme for Year 6 children moving to Year 7.
Libbie joined BISB in 2018 as KS2 Phase Leader.
Libbie’s educational philosophy is to encourage young people to be independent thinkers with strong morals and values. She believes that it is a teacher’s role to provide a stimulating and challenging environment in which children feel inspired to ask questions and are in control of their own learning. Libbie is driven and ambitious when setting high expectations for her students, so that they are able to achieve their personal goals and become responsible, global citizens.
In her spare time, Libbie is a very active person who loves to be busy; she spends as much time as possible outdoors. She spends most weekends running, cycling and climbing and exploring the Hungarian countryside with her dog, Lexi.
