Art Teacher

PGCE Secondary Art & Design with QTS, University of Wales Trinity Saint David  

BA (Hons) Textile Design specialising in Mixed Media, Falmouth University 

Level 3/4 Diploma Foundation Studies in Art and Design specialising in Textiles and Fashion, University of Wales Trinity Saint David 

Ellen started her teaching career in 2020 after specialising in mixed media embroidery for three years in Cornwall, U.K. Her first post was in a large 3-16 co-educational comprehensive school in South Wales. In September 2021, Ellen moved on to teach in a bilingual comprehensive school and gained experience teaching pupils with SEN and ALN. In August 2022, Ellen accepted her first international school post with BISB. Ellen has experience teaching a wide range of subjects, including Art, Textiles, D.T Craft (Ceramics), Photography, and Graphic Design.  

Ellen believes that all children should be nurtured socially, academically, and mentally to receive the highest quality educational experience. She is committed to ensuring that her pupils engage fully in lessons and receive a diverse art educational experience by learning and experimenting with a range of mixed media techniques. Ellen intends that all learners graduating with BISB will be ambitious,  independent thinkers who are curious and inspired to make a difference in the world. 

Ellen is passionate about professional development and spends time researching language and social justice in education to ensure her pedagogy is contemporary and reflective of key educational issues. In her spare time, Ellen enjoys knitting, yoga, and walking. Ellen loves music and can play the guitar and ukulele.
