Oliver began his teaching career in 2010 and taught for 4 years in the UK with this time split between two ambitious comprehensive schools. In 2014 he moved on to his first international school post based in Thailand. During his time in Thailand Oliver was a subject leader of Geography, delivering the IGCSE course, as well as teaching Business Studies and managing the schools Student Council.
Oliver strives, through Geography, to engage his students with the many and diverse connections, between the human and natural worlds. He is equally committed to extra-curricular activities and believes that offering a range of opportunities to young people is vital to their development. Through the opportunities they are provided, Oliver is ambitious for his students to develop the skills and confidence required to become real leaders and have a positive impact in the world.
In his spare time Oliver dedicates a lot of time to sport. His favourite sport is Ultimate Frisbee in which he has taken part in a number of tournaments in the UK, Spain and Thailand and has also continued to play football throughout his life.
He loves to travel by train and first visited Budapest by these means in 2009. Having now ventured far and wide in Asia he is looking forward to spending more time exploring Europe’s railways. He is also planning to take up long distance cycling on his return to Europe with the ambition of riding the length of the Danube.
