Sara worked in International Businesses for more than 10 years, most of them with management responsibilities. She was also a consultant and a trainer.
Sara found her passion for Education in 2014, when she started her teaching career as a Business and Economics’ teacher in Qatar. During her time in Qatar, Sara was promoted to Head of Year and after as a Head of Department of Business, Economics, Travel & Tourism and Psychology. She has experience teaching IGCSE and IAL (IAS and IA2).
She was also a MUN Director, Member of the Advisory Board for THIMUN Qatar, and TEDxYouth Coordinator. Sara had a chance to participate and organise many local and international in-person and online conferences.
During the academic year of 2021/22, she went back to Portugal to complete a Master’s in Education, where she had the privileged of working with refugee’s effective and inclusive integration.
Sara would describe herself with three words: Kaizen, Passion and Team. Kaizen, as she always looks for continuous improvements which allows her to take new challenges. More important than teaching is student’s learning. Passion for Education, which grabs students’ attention and drive engagement, in and outside of the classroom. Team-oriented, who can also work independently. Sara is a dedicated team-member who enjoys working closely with others and thrive in a team environment.
In her spare time, Sara enjoys traveling, reading, music and practicing sports such as volleyball, tennis, paddle, horse riding, among others.
