Darren began teaching in 2011 after three years working as a civil engineer and later as a consultant. He worked in various pastoral roles within schools in London before entering the graduate teacher program. Darren enjoyed four years teaching mathematics in North-West London, having been the lead in embedding ICT and with interventions, before relocating to Qatar as the Head of mathematics. He has been teaching mathematics in Budapest for the previous four years and been the ICT ambassador for the school.
Darren is extremely passionate about using mathematics to solve problems in the real world, as we as a society move to further utilise information to guide and build the world around us. He is driven to give learners a deep understanding of mathematics while simultaneously developing cross- curricular skills.
In his spare time Darren enjoys mountain biking; riding and building tracks wherever he works. He enjoys walking in the Buda hills with his dog and is a music lover, having performed at venues and festivals in the South-West of England.
