David Kennedy

David Kennedy

Science and Mathematics Teacher

Master of Chemistry, University of Durham

PGCE Science (Chemistry specialism), University of Newcastle Upon Tyne 

David started his teaching career in 2012 after working in the pharmaceutical research industry. His first teaching post was in a British comprehensive school in the North East of England, after which he took up his first international post in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He taught IGCSE and IAL Chemistry and Physics for three years and became Head of House. David then moved back to Europe and taught Science internationally for two more years in Budapest where he was appointed whole school House coordinator.

David is passionate about Science and understanding how the world works. David is excited by working in education with open minded young people and relishes the challenge of equipping students with skills they need in the real world. David is passionate about student development, both in and out of the classroom and sees student welfare as a central aspect of education and student development.

David’s passion for Science is matched only by his passion for sports, especially endurance sports. David has played as a member of many different sports teams and has completed many marathons, triathlons and cycle tours around the world, including a 4000 mile cycle across USA.
