John Cartwright

John Cartwright

Mathematics Teacher

BSc (Hons) Physics with Astrophysics, University of Exeter

John started his career in 2009 in the Music department of a Sixth Form College in Somerset, England before training to be a Mathematics teacher. He spent 4 years teaching Mathematics in the UK before taking up his first international post in Kuala Lumpur in 2014 teaching Mathematics and Physics. Since becoming a teacher, John has been fortunate in attending many professional development courses focusing on assessment for learning and language skills.

John is passionate about inclusion in education and strives to ensure that all students can access the curriculum successfully. He is interested in how teachers of all subjects teach language and understanding and has been working towards improving how he teaches language in his maths and science lessons.

In his spare time, John loves to mountain bike as well as keep fit. He is an avid musician and loves playing the piano and saxophone in jazz bands.
