Amy started teaching IB, GCSE and A Level Biology in Yorkshire, UK. After 5 years there she moved to city living in Central London where she was a Biology Lecturer for 7 years. While in London she also become a Board External Moderator in Biology for schools across the UK. Amy then moved to a warmer climate for 2 years, becoming Head of Science in the UAE and teaching IGCSE and IAL Biology.
Amy’s teaching philosophy is that when a person enjoys learning it will inspire a lifelong commitment to learning. She believes in creating an atmosphere where science can be enjoyed and questioned, where students look forward to class and are reluctant to leave. Expanding students’ vision of the world and nurturing their curiosity of what has been and what could be. my supports student critical thinking and ability to reflect on their health and act on their personal goals.
Amy greatly enjoys travel, from the Artic Circle to the rainforests, by sailboat, dog sledge and bike. She believes that each journey is an adventure in the making. Amy has been attempting for ten years to master living as a minimalist, with aspirations to own only 100 possessions. Each year she gets closer to this figure, but possessions keep sneaking back into her home. She also likes to draw, with a target of one unique, new drawing per week.
