Coaching and Instructor qualifications
Gergő worked as an assistant volleyball coach and swimming instructor and offered specialised personal training in major health clubs in Budapest. He also worked for one of the market-leading sport event organiser businesses after graduating from the University.
Gergő became a full-time P.E. teacher in 2001 when he joined BISB. In addition to teaching both primary and secondary classes and coaching several teams, he worked as an Extra-curricular co-ordinator and was an acting Head of Department for two terms. He became the Head of P.E. in 2010 and was promoted to the position of Director of Sport as part of the development process of the sporting life of BISB in 2015.
As a teacher, Mr Karácsony aspires to promote persistence as well as resilience both in sports and in everyday life. He believes that fostering such values and leading by example can make a difference to our students’ lives.
Gergő enjoys riding his mountain bike, playing the guitar and exploring different languages.
