Beyond the Classroom!

This week's Beyond the Classroom blog is celebrating multiple students on their achievements! 

The first success comes from our students who participated in Math Kangaroo competition on March 21. Congrats to all of the students involved in the competition! 

The second achievement comes from Maxwell G. in  Year 5. Max recently won 1st Place in the 2019 State Men's USA Gymnastics Level 5, and 1 st place in 4 out of 6 events. He is qualified to compete in the 5 state Regional Competition on April 6th in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Huge congratulations Max!

Our final achievement comes from Vikram K. in Year 2. In the Spring break, Vikram participated in the 3rd Annual Oratacular Competition in Chicago.  Oratacular Competition is a competition that encourages students from Grade 1 through Grade 6  to speak to the public on a topic of relevance for about 3-5 minutes to highlight the topic and confidently speak to the audience. Participants are rated on their message delivery, confidence, props  used and the final closing line.  Students prepare their speech and speak to the audience from memory. The topic for this year was "If I could change one thing in the world ".  Vikram spoke the topic "Why to stop the use of Plastic Straws " completely out of memory. Vikram won 2nd place in this competiton with his speech in the category of Grade 1-3 and was given an Amazon Gift card, An Oratucular Speech Badge, a cerficate and a medal . Well done Vikram!
