Bonfire Night was another enjoyable evening with many families and friends from across Nanjing enjoying the festivities. When entering the school, everyone travelled through a large black tent with a picture of Guy Fawkes whose red laser eyes stared down as everyone was presented with flashlights to help guide them throughout the night. On exiting the building and entering the football pitch, it had been transformed into a ghoulish wonderland. There were tents filled with food, drinks, cotton candy, glow sticks, and games for the children to participate in. With loads of delicious food, entertaining music, a face changing performance, a magician, sweets and treats, mulled wine for the adults, there was also a warm bonfire in the garden to warm fingers and toes and toast marshmallows as well. A highlight was a lovely song performed from two of our Senior students. Everyone departed with smiles on their faces and trinkets from the joyous night celebrating Guy Fawkess failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605.
