During the last week of Term 2, students from The British School of Nanjing travelled to Moscow to take part in The British Schools Foundation (BSF) Music Festival alongside 200 other students from nine BSF schools.Hosted by The International School of Moscow (ISM), choirs and orchestras from across the schools worked on an inspiring range of pieces from Tchaikovsky and Borodin, to Earth Wind and Fire and The Carpenters, culminating in a grandfinale concerton Friday 31st march at the Rublevo theatre in West Moscow.After the concert,the annual BSF 'Battle of the Bands' competition took place with studentstreated to an exclusive performance by acclaimed Russianmusician and songwriter, Diana Arbenina, whilst ISM's band 'Gravum' took home the first prize.Live streamed around the world,BSN band Last Minute's set of songs showcased their extensive musical and vocal range, whilst channeling someserious dance moves, in a highly energetic performance that helped them clinchsecond prize in this fierce competition!We areextremely proud of all our students who took part and contributed to the 2017 BSF Music Festival, anexciting musical and cultural exchange opportunity on offer to students across The British Schools Foundation.
