Day two of the Nord Anglia Global Games China U11 Football at the British School of Nanjing has continued where day 1 left off. Mr Shephard, our school Principal opened proceedings with an amusing pitch side opening ceremony speech before matches kicked-off at 09:30. Our very own BSN Foxes joined the action today after returning from their week-long residential trips week at 7pm last night.
The weather has been glorious, the goals have been flying in, as have the tackles, as day 2 saw 40 matches played in the opening group phase of the tournament.
The Home of the Foxes has been abuzz with the noise and energy of 200 players and coaches and hundreds of parents and spectators from across China who supported and cheered from the sidelines, and we are still in the group stage.
Tomorrow the excitement and drama will hit fever pitch as the group stage concludes and teams battle it out to qualify for the cup, plate and shield knock-out phases.
The afternoon will be a nerve wracking affair for coaches and parents as we move into the final stage of the competition. Expect laughter, joy and tears in abundance before we all come together for the closing ceremony, awards and the eagerly anticipated Disco!
