Sunday, 12 November our International Parade was a fantastic success with flags and national dress representing 59 countries to start our International Week. Thank you to all our parents for supporting our opening ceremony, we hope you enjoyed the event.
This week, all children will have the opportunity to visit other teachers and classrooms in order to find out more about the other countries represented in the school. It’s wonderful to see the classrooms and doors decorated. During the week, the children will have the opportunity to visit another classroom, pass through passport control and enter another country. They will then take part in a wide range of traditional activities. We would like to thank our parents who provided a pony and falcons on Sunday, the children had a fantastic time. We would also like to thank the QMA musicians who shared Arabic instruments with our children. We hope that your child is able to share their learning at home. On Thursday, the children will sample worldwide cuisine when they attend the school’s international breakfast. We hope our parents are able to support this event by sending in a dish to share from your home country. The week will be concluded with an international assembly which our parents are welcome to attend. Thank you to all the parents who have taken the time to help out in class or bring in resources to support this event.
Last Friday, the school opened its gates for the Friends of Compass School FCS Picnic Breakfast and Table Top Sale. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Claire, the FCS Chair and Rebecca, Vice Chair and our wonderful team of supportive FCS parents for organising and hosting this event. We have received very positive feedback from our school community. I’d also like to thank all our dedicated staff for organising the fun activities for the children and the highly talented parents who participated in the school’s first ‘bake off’. We look forward to hosting the picnic once again next year. The FCS also plans to organise another event for the children before the school holiday in December. We will be in touch with more information.
We hope the children enjoy the rest of the week and are able to relay all of their wonderful activities at home.
