Year 7 Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance

23 March 2017

During the last two weeks a group of very generous parents, and wider family members of Year 7 students, have been visiting PSHE lessons to give a series of careers talks. Students wrote to parents inviting them in to give us an insight into their career pathways.

We have had representatives from a diverse range of industries including Construction, Engineering, Oil, Qatar Philharmonic, Health, Education, Commerce, Sport and Hospitality. Each parent brought us an awareness the wide range of jobs in their particular industry. They also advised students on the qualifications, skills and qualities required for their jobs.

A very clear message came across from each visitor about the importance of discovering the subject areas that you are passionate about and finding jobs within those areas. They all agreed that your occupation needs to be fulfilling rather than choosing a job for the money.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our visitors for giving us so much of their time and for sharing their experiences.
