Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new academic year at Compass International School, Madinat Khalifa. I hope you and your families have had a fantastic summer break.

Firstly, a huge thank you to all of our families for the fantastic attendance for our Welcome presentation and individual class teacher meetings. Establishing strong relationships between school and home is vital in ensuring all student achieve their absolute best. If you haven’t already, I urge you to connect with your child’s class through classdojo, this a great tool to find out more about your child’s learning and upcoming events in class and across the school.

I would also like to thank you for your patience in regards to the new school uniform. We are working with our providers to find a speedy resolution to this issue. You should have received an email earlier this week explaining our immediate and longer term plans.

We also look forward to welcoming our families into school next week for our ‘Class in Action’ mornings. This is a great opportunity for you to participate, along with your child, in lessons from across the primary curriculum. These lessons will take place in your child’s classroom between 7:30-9:00am on Monday (Years 5&6), Tuesday (Years 3&4) and Wednesday (Years 1&2). Tea and coffee will be available in the reception area before and after each session.

We have also welcomed a number of new teachers to our Primary team; Mr McGlade and Miss Skelt in Year 1; Mr Higgins in Year 4; Mr Lynch in Year 5 and Miss Bastone in Year 6. We also welcome Miss Pontes who is joining Year 2 as a Learning Assistant and Mrs Hill who is our new school nurse. I know that these additions will further enhance our provision of high quality learning at Madinat Khalifa.

Should you ever have any questions or queries concerning the Primary school, please don’t hesitate to contact me at jimmy.frawley@nais.qa

Have a wonderful weekend.
