Year 8 Trip to Fanar Islamic Center

On Sunday, Year 8 visited the Fanar Islamic Center near the Souq Waqif.  Beginning in the Majelis, they heard about Qatari traditions before watching two thought provoking films on the contribution of Arabic inventors to the modern world and how much our DNA can reveal about our ancestors.  Students then discussed the five pillars of Islam, particularly in relation to Ramadan, before finishing in the Mosque.  All involved learned a great deal and were particularly pleased with their goody bags!
