On Thursday, we held a special assembly to say thank you to the people who help us. From parents, teachers and assistants to our Security Guards, cleaners and maintenance staff. Everyone plays a part in making Rayyan Campus such a special place. With your kind and thoughtful gesture, we were able to give our support staff a lovely end of year gift to help their families and a lovely lunch for them to enjoy themselves. Thank you for your generosity and to FCS for coordinating this.
This year has been an ambitious one, in many ways. The focus, as always, being on children’s learning and our ‘be Ambitious’ philosophy. We set out on a quality assurance process and were delighted to be awarded the maximum 5 Year QNSA Accreditation. We improved the facilities by adding multi sports and Early Years playgrounds. We added classrooms for Arabic and Islamic Studies and upgraded the children’s toilets in the main building.
That’s not to say there is not more that we can do. We listen very carefully to what you say in the Parent Survey and are working on some projects over the summer, to bring about changes which will facilitate learning support and EAL and improve our sporting facilities.
We are fortunate to have excellent teachers in our school but sadly, at this time of year, there are a few who will move on to new experiences. Ms O Toole is returning to Scotland and Ms Steele is returning to Canada. Ms Reid and Mrs Roman are moving to Gharaffa Campus where I am sure they will enjoy sharing their experience and being part of a new team.
We have a fantastic small group of new teachers starting in August and look forward to introducing them to you.
Most of all, thank you to parents for all their support this year. It has been a very busy year, with so many opportunities and events for our children but they would not be able to participate so well without the support from home.
To those of you who are moving on to new pastures, thank you for being part of our community. We wish you every success and hope that you will keep a little part of our school with you, wherever you go.
Details of the welcome meetings and your child’s class will be sent by the Admissions Officer during the summer break.
Have a lovely holiday and we look forward to welcoming you back to school on the 29th August.
