Dear Parents,

“Writing is the painting of the voice!” – Volataire

The Gulf Young Author of the Year 2018

Earlier this term, students from Years 4, 5 and 6 participated in ‘The Gulf Young Author of the Year’ competition. Schools from across the region were involved so the competition and standard of writing high. I am delighted to announce that we have a number of students who were successful - they are Haleema (Year 4), Yasmina (Year 5), Ilyas (Year 6) and Haruto (Year 7). Their stories will feature in the final published book and they will receive their own personalised copy.

In addition to this impressive feat, one of our student’s stories was judged to be the overall 2nd Place winner! Congratulations to Karim from Year 6. He will receive a selection of books, including the one containing his story. We have purchased additional copies that will be available for all of our students to read. We look forward to even more success in next year’s competition.

Change to Primary Pick-Up Arrangements

Due to the increasing temperatures, we have taken the decision to change our end of day pick-up arrangements for primary students.

School pick-up for Primary students will now be from their classroom at 1:00pm. Bus students will be taken to their school bus as normal.

We kindly ask that you do not interrupt classes before 1:00pm.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Have a wonderful week!
